21/4/08: MELTIN' POT AT SANSIRO WITH NEGRAMARO: THE FRATELLIS, THE HOOSIERS, THE FASHION AND FINK

The cast of supporters who will open the negramaro concert on 31 May at San Siroto the already announced names of The Fratellis and The Hoosiersare now added The Fashionalternative rock with hip hop overtones from Denmark and Fink, a British artist who started out in electronic music and ended up in a world that moves between soul, folk and black music.
In addition to the quality of the musical proposal desired by the negramaro to entertain the audience at the San Siro before starting their concert, it is worth noting the varied backgrounds of the four supporters, each protagonists in their own way of the Anglo-Saxon 'indie' scene. The Fratellis, 25-year-olds from Glasgow, Scotland, made their debut in 2006 with a mind-blowing, smash-hit album, 'Costello Music', which quickly launched them to the top of the charts and consequently onto the covers of the music press across Europe. A few months later, at the beginning of 2007, The Hoosiers, an Anglo-Swedish trio, climbed the charts with the eccentric, light-hearted and irreverent pop of their debut album 'A Trick To Life', immediately attracting the attention of public and critics alike. The Fashion are the best musical talent to cross the borders of Denmark in recent times. Born between post-punk and alternative rock, with their new self-titled album, The Fashion (pictured), they manage to create a tightly-knit melting pot of rock, new wave and hip hop sounds that is so good that it convinced the record company to release it not only throughout Europe but also in the United States.
Fink, an Englishman from Brighton, has his own way of interpreting folk. A musical hybrid as much inclined to blues and soul as to an almost imperceptible electronic background, which constitutes the fertile musical soil from which his music was born. All supported by a bare acoustic skeleton, animated by a persuasive voice of clear black derivation. His latest album, Distance and Time, is the third released on Ninja Tunes, a label that was already a pioneer for electronic and drum'n'bass music of British origin.
On Saturday 31 May, the first date of the musical season in the Scala del Calcio, the San Siro stadium will come alive from 3 p.m. with the music of Fink, followed in order by The Fashion, The Hoosiers and The Fratellis, until the big moment when Negramaro will burst onto the stage and begin their only concert of the summer of 2008, organised and produced by Barley Arts, a show and a feast of music and songs that the more than 30,000 fans who already have tickets have been dreaming about for months.
Meanwhile, as the short European club tour draws to a close, Negramaro are on the radio with the new single "Hands Off Eyes, the fourth taken from the multi-platinum album 'La finestra', a recovery of the intense and energetic rock of the origins, and a callback to the more direct live atmospheres, the same ones that will be protagonists on 31 May at San Siro.
