25/1/11: 10 DAYS PLAYED AT VIGEVANO CASTLE: THE FIRST NAMES OF THE SECOND EDITION

If the first edition of 10 DAYS PLAYED had impressed with the quality of the music, the attention to detail in the catering and the openness to different cultural forms, the Second Edition, to be held in June and July 2011, again in the splendid setting of Vigevano Castleis determined to go down the same road with even more quality and dedication in every aspect of the show.

Judging by the first confirmed artists, the premise is largely confirmed: 28 June will take the stage John Mayall with his Bluesbreakersa true blues legend, and the Black Country Communiona super band that, according to specialist critics, will be the unmissable act of the coming season. The line-up features Glenn Hughes on vocals and bass, Joe Bonamassa on guitar, Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater, Billy Idol, Alice Cooper) on keyboards and Jason Bonham, son of the great John, on drums.

Already confirmed for the following day, on 29 Junethe only Italian date of one of the most influential guitarists in the history of modern music: Jeff Beckon tour with his band.

Two more artists have been confirmed so far, whose musical proposal reflects the attitude of 10 Giorni Suonati: no barriers of genre, age or audience. On 7 July another big exclusive: the long-awaited return of the Black Crowes , absent from Italy for a decade, for their only date in our country. Their self-titled 'Say Goodnight to the bad guys Tour' brings the Robinson brothers' band to stages all over the world with a set inspired by the greatest hits 'Croweology', recently released also in Italy.

On 24 July it will be the turn of Jack Johnson, music fans' favourite surfer, the Hawaiian songwriter who has managed to sell 10 million copies worldwide with his last two albums. He has been missing in our country since 2006 when he sold out at Milan's Alcatraz.

The other great musicians who will be part of the final programme of the festival will soon be confirmed and communicated on the Barley Arts website, while Tickets for each concert will already be on sale from Wednesday 27 January.

The "10 Giorni Suonati", also this year conceived and organised by Barley Arts with the patronage of the Municipality of Vigevano, is enriched, as in the first edition, with other cultural activities to accompany the music. Last year's protagonists were the "Meetings with the Author", a series of literary aperitifs that brought journalists and novelists such as Sandone Dazieri, John Peter Sloan, Marina Petrillo, Ezio Guaitamchi, Enzo Gentile and others to Vigevano, including a Roberto Vecchioni in his lesser-known capacity as a writer.
