On 20 February 2010, Roberto Vecchioni's musical journey will start at the Saschall in Florence, where he will perform live songs from his recent record, In-Cantus. Over the course of a month, the tour will touch the main Italian cities, including Palermo, on 1 March at the Teatro Golden, Milan, on 13 March at the Conservatorio, Turin, on 20 March at the Teatro Colosseo, Rome on 28 March at the Teatro Brancaccio, and on 29 March at the Teatro Regio di Parma.
The album In-Cantus was released on 30 October on the Universal label, originated from a short and courageous Christmas tour, of only 4 performances, performed in the winter of 2008 in sacred places such as Churches and Cathedrals. The success of the initiative then suggested the opportunity to continue with other concerts in order to record a CD and propose to an even wider audience a project of undeniable artistic depth between poetry and music born from an idea of Maestro Beppe d'Onghia. It is a live show in which classical arias and Vecchioni's songs find their common denominator in the themes eternally present in man: the questioning of existence, love between men, the relationship with eternity, the feeling of the divine. The 2010 Tour
Vecchioni, who is no stranger to seemingly improbable contaminations, tackles the search for a language that crosses and transcends the boundaries of different cultures and traditions, "... not with the arrogance of someone who thinks he can do anything, but with the humility of someone who has been writing songs for quite a while, but who only allows himself forays into important music in the manner of a man who is not a professional. certainly not with the arrogance of someone who believes he can afford anything, but with the humility of someone who has been writing songs for quite a while but who only allows himself forays into important music in the manner of a storyteller like me, that is, letting himself be guided by his heart."
On the album, listeners feel the transition from classical arias to popular and modern songs, between songs by Vecchioni and poems from his own books or those of other authors, flowing absolutely naturally. Following this idea, Roberto Vecchioniwith the support of the Nu-Ork String QuintetHe will interpret them live in the style of the singer-songwriter and artist extraordinaire that everyone knows. His will be the singing and narrating voice of the concert, which will feature, for example, "Vissi d'arte"of Puccini, a jazz version of the Christmas carol "Jingle Bells", the "Pathetic"Chajkowsky's "Concerto No. 2 in C Minor'. by Rachmaninoff (which regained popularity in the late 1990s thanks to the film Shine by Scott Hicks), verses recited to classical music reworked for the occasion, songs by Roberto Vecchioni rearranged for piano and string quintet, including Lights in Sansiro, Blumun, Dream Boy, The Blue Roses, Miladyas well as some spoken pieces for which Vecchioni does not hesitate to quote other great authors such as Gassman, Neruda or Borges.
