Courtney Marie Andrews

Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Courtney Marie Andrews began playing guitar and composing at the age of 13, and performing at 15. In 2009, the frontman of Jimmy Eat World, Jim Adkinsasks her to join the band on stage to sing a song from the Wilco, You and Iand the following year the relationship was further strengthened. Courtneyappears in five tracks of the album Invented (DGC/Interscope, 2010) and the young singer-songwriter took part in the band's tour as a backing vocalist and keyboardist. In 2011 she joined the band of Damien Jurado and then in that of the Belgian star Milow. During this period, his fifth album began to take shape. Honest Life (Mama Bird Recording Co., 2016)which finally got her noticed by US critics: Rolling Stone places it among the best 40 country albums of 2016 and defines the Andrews such as one of the ten country artists the public needs to know about. The next job, May Your Kindness Remain (Fat Possum Records/Loose, 2018) to the top of the independent and Americana album charts across Europe, but the real triumph came with Old Flowerswhich earned her a nomination for the 63rd edition of theGrammy Awards in the category Best Americana Album. Also active on the non-musical front, the Andrews published in 2021 Old Monarchhis first collection of poems.
