Sir Chloe was born in 2017 when frontwoman Dana Foote, then a music composition student at Bennington College in Vermont, chose to write a concert consisting only of original music instead of a classic thesis. Helping her are her brother Palmer Foote along with long-time friends Teddy O'Mara, Emma Welch and Austin Holmes. Dana writes the band's first two singles, Michelle and Animal, on the floor of her college dormitory. The line-up records the songs at dawn, during the only free studio time inside the school; the rest of the Party Favors EP is recorded in a shed that the guys converted into a recording studio with just $100 and a lot of good will. This rather homemade work soon turned into something colossal, and thanks to the success of the EP, Sir Chloe went on tour with Portugal. The Man and alt-J, opening for the Pixies and embarking on a headlining tour in the US and Europe.
