TOMORROW NIGHT UNIQUE EVENT AT ALCATRAZ IN MILAN: STYX + KANSAS ON THE SAME STAGE

A double concert with two of the bands that best represented American rock in the 1980s, fully-fledged veterans of worldwide 'classic rock', with over 30 years of career under their belt and a following that has never lost sight of them. STYX e KANSAS will be in Italy in a so-called double billing that will see KANSAS perform first.

Precursors of progressive rock, with 26 albums under their belt, considering 6 remastered with previously unreleased tracks and the SAIL ON box (double CD + DVD) released in 2003 to mark the 30th anniversary of their intense career, KANSAS present themselves in their historic line-up with PHIL EHART (drums), BILLY GREER (bass), ROBBIE STEINHARDT (violin), STEVE WALSH (vocals) and RICHARD WILLIAMS (guitar), the five who reunited in 1998 after decades of great satisfaction, memorable albums such as SONG OF AMERICA (1975), POINT OF KNOW RETURN (1977), MONOLITH (1979), DRASTIC MEASURES (1983), but also heavy personal rifts within the group, break-ups and rapprochements motivated by personal problems and drug abuse.

Following them on the Alcatraz stage will be STYX, in the persons of TOMMY SHAW (vocals and guitar), JAMES "JY" YOUNG (vocals and guitar), LAWRENCE GOWAN (keyboards and vocals), TODD SUCHERMAN (drums), RICKY PHILLIPS (bass and backing vocals). Fresh off the shelves, their new album BIG BANG THEORY, released on 10 May, offers Styx's interpretation of some great 70s rock classics including I am the Walrus by The Beatles, A Salty Dog by Procul Harum, Manic Depression by Jimi Hendrix. But in addition to these, the concert will feature old hits from the albums that have made STYX one of the iconic classic rock bands: Lady, Too Much Time on My Hands, Blue Collar Man, Renegade, Come Sail Away are just some of the 16 songs that have topped the charts over the past 25 years. The alchemy that binds the band to its fans can be felt in the high-energy concerts that STYX brings around the world. At the moment 18 dates in Europe with KANSAS and then another 20 in Canada and the USA. Because it is true that rock will never die.
