It's official: MAYHEM in Rome on 17 October with 'De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas' live

The founders of Norwegian true black metal, the Mayhemwill be on stage at theOrion Live Club in Ciampino (RM) Tuesday 17 October to play the historic debut album in its entirety De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas (Deathlike Silence, 1994). I tickets are already available on the Ticketone (online and point of sale).

De Mysteriis Dom Sathanasthe band's first full-length since the EP Deathcrush from 1987, is considered one of the most important black metal albums of all time. Its production lasted seven years, from 1987 to 1994, and took place during the most complicated period for the band due to the suicide of vocalist For 'Dead' Ohlin and the murder of the guitarist Øystein 'Euronymous' Aarseth at the hands of the bass player Varg Vikernesthen known as Count Grishnackh and later became famous for albums recorded in prison under the aegis of Burzum. While the original vocalist Dead was Swedish, its replacement in the album Attila Csihar was Hungarian and the style was somewhat atypical by Nordic black metal standards of the time, and this variation at the time provoked mixed reactions among fans.

According to Metal Hammer, De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas "Two decades after its recording it remains at the top of all 'best album' lists compiled by the genre's historical fans, while at the same time being a primary source of inspiration for up-and-coming bands whose members were often not yet born at the time of its release. Many would say that it is the most important album in black metal's vast and prolific catalogue, and few would contradict this statement'.

I Mayhem are Attila Csihar (voice), Teloch (guitar), Ghul (guitar), Necrobutcher (bass) and Hellhammer (drums and percussion).
