After years of waiting, the six-string virtuoso duo Rodrigo y Gabriela return to Italy with three dates of their tour dedicated to their new work In Between Thoughts...A New World (ATO Records) which will be released on 21 April and is already available for pre-order. The dates to mark in your calendar are Friday 29 September at Santeria Toscana 31 in Milan, Saturday 30 September at the Estragon Club in Bologna and Monday 2 October at the Sala Sinopoli of the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone in Rome. The pre-sale for fans of the artists will begin today at 6pm, while general sales will open on the Ticketone (all dates) and Ticketmaster (Milan and Bologna) circuits at 10am on Friday 17 February; special VIP packages will also be available.

Rodrigo y Gabriela grew up with an eclectic mix of classic rock, heavy metal, a rather rare alchemy of influences that inspires their work. Shortly after the disbandment of their first band, the two musicians strapped on acoustic guitars and arrived in Ireland, where they ran out of money and found themselves forced to busk in Dublin's Grafton Street. This sudden turn of events caused them to cross paths with Irish singer-songwriter Damien Rice, whose first headlining show they opened. The duo soon became known for their incredible live shows and in 2002 made their recording debut with re-Focto continue his career with a further eight kaleidoscopic and critically acclaimed albums, including Area 52 (recorded with a Cuban orchestra), 9 Dead Alive which highlighted its rock nature, and the winner of a 2020 Grammy Award in the category Best Contemporary Instrumental Album, Mettavolution. Milestones in Rodrigo y Gabriela's career include a show at the White House in the presence of Barack Obama and the President of Mexico, a headlining show on the Jazz World Stage at Glastonbury, and a long series of sold-out performances at prestigious venues such as London's Royal Albert Hall and the Sydney Opera House.
