THE MAGICAL 70S IN THE GLAM & ROLL OF GIUDA: EUROPEAN TOUR GETS UNDERWAY

With their new album out, the GIUDA join the Barley roster with an enviable calendar!
GIUDA are five Roman rockers of long standing: almost two decades ago some of them played in Taxi, officially recognised as one of the best punkrock bands ever born in the capital, but it is under their current name that they have managed to express their full potential.
Take a dash of Slade, a handful of Cock Sparrer and a sprinkling of Slaughter & The Dogs, mix it with the immediacy of Motorhead and the mind-bending choruses of Kiss, and you're a little closer to understanding what he's made of. 'Racey Roller', their debut album, released in 2010 and already sold out in numerous reissues.

GIUDA have already toured the world over the past few months, and have received praise from such illustrious peers as Turbonegro. new album, due in the spring.

They say about them:

- The Judas are a force of nature. They will be famous. They already are.
Luca Frazzi. Noise

- Judas resurrected a genre that had been practically buried for forty years: the glam rock of British bands like Sweet , Slade and Mud . RollingSTone

- From Rome, neo-bovver rockers get stomping. Recalling the stack-heeled sounds of Slade, The Sweet and The Faces plus the "junk shop glam", Romans Giuda do their bit for similarly no-pretention, high-energy rocking with their debut Racey Roller. MOJO

- After 10 years of utter mediocrity where nothing new means anything, it's a wondrous occasion when a record jumps out and gabs you by the unmentionables. Robin Willis (Barracudas)

- Their performance in the Buffalo Bar, in London, transported me back to the heady days of watching punk groups play in the back rooms of dodgy London pubs in 1977.
Phil KIng ( Lush, Jesus and Mary Chain)
