The already extraordinary concerts of Fantastic Negrito will be graced with a very special guest: it will be the Vintage Trouble to take the stage before him Friday 24 July at the 29th Pordenone Blues Festivaland they are only the first announced special guests of an evening that will be enriched by other names.
Since their formation in 2010, the Vintage Trouble have made a name for themselves across the globe for their skilful blend of rock, blues and R&B that has taken them to 30 countries with over 3000 solo shows or opening for giants such as the Rolling Stones, Who, AC/DC and many others. Their latest release is Chapter II - EP II of 2019, which pays homage to the band's soul roots and references Marvin Gaye and Otis Redding, to name but a few.
Pordenone will not be the only Italian date of Fantastic Negrito, who will also perform Tuesday 21 July at the GruVillage 105 Music Festival in Grugliasco (TO) e Wednesday 22 July at the Estate Fiesolana at the Roman Theatre of Fiesole (FI). Winner of a Grammy Award for his album Please Don't Be Dead (Cooking Vinyl, 2018), Fantastic Negrito is the embodiment of a musician who has returned to the world after going through countless hardships, and in his songs, the storytelling is as important as the sound: songs born out of a long and troubled life conveyed by typical roots music based on slide guitar, drums and piano. Fantastic Negrito is the story of a man who struggled to make it only to lose everything and commit himself to climbing back up from the bottom.
He returned to music in 2014 playing on the streets of Oakland, Fantastic Negrito won the first contest to participate in the well-known format NPR Tiny Desk. In 2016 he released his first full length The Last Days of Oaklandwhich gives him the first Grammy such as Best Contemporary Blues Album in 2017. His third work Have You Lost Your Mind Yet? will be released during the summer of 2020.
