IMPRESSIONS OF NATURALLY 7, ARCHIVE, LOVETT & HIATT AND DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL

A great week just passed in Milan: from Monday to Wednesday concerts by Archive and Dashboard Confessional were staged at the Salumeria della Musica, preceded on Sunday by that of Naturally 7, as well as Lyle Lovett & John Hiatt at the Conservatorio on Tuesday 2 February (pictured).
I Naturally 7 confirm their uniqueness, already shown on the Michael Bouble tour: the seven singers engage the audience in the Milan venue with their seven-voice R&B doing the work of a big band. Live, the band shows its best and on stage manages to be appreciated for what it really is. The radio success of 'Feel it' does not do Naturally 7 complete justice, and their hit song passes through the airwaves without actually doing justice to the incredible and fascinating work behind each of their performances: a spectacle for the eyes as well as the ears.
The next day, again at the venue in Via Pasinetti, it was the turn of the Archive, eagerly awaited in Italy after yet another masterpiece album (Controlling Crowds Part 1 and 2). It was a sold-out show for the London collective (who appeared in a full 9-piece line-up, including the very Italian singer Maria), with several dozen fans left out without a ticket. The setlist gives ample space to the latest compositions, which have already entered the hearts and ears of the audience, who explicitly appreciate what stands as one of the best live shows in clubs in early 2010.
Tuesday is a night to note: Lyle Lovett for the first time in Italy, in the company of John Hiattwhich had been missing in our country for over ten years. I Confessional Dashboard close the four-day event with another sell-out at the Salumeria della Muaica, with fans present outside the venue already in the early afternoon. The Belle of the Boulevard band now seems ready for the big jump.
