On 7 May Joe Satriani, the legendary guitarist, will release his fourteenth album entitled Unstoppable Momentum.
Recorded at the Skywalker Sound studio near San Francisco, Unstoppable Momentum is produced by Satriani and Mike Fraser (AC/DC) and will feature eleven tracks with top-notch musicians such as Vinnie Colauita (Sting, Jeff Beck, Frank Zappa, Megadeth) on drums, Chris Chaney (Janes Addiction) on bass and Mike Keneally (Dethklok) on keyboards.
After completing a South American tour with G3 in October 2012, Satriani devoted the next two months to composing new tracks. "Two very prolific and cathartic months," he recalls, "from which a lot of new music came out that I couldn't wait to record!" says Joe.
He brought eleven pieces into the studio, all of them 'characterised by different directions and influenced by different musical styles'. This is why Satriani decided to form a new studio band: 'The idea was to give the recording sessions a boost of energy and allow each musician to make the songs their own. Mike, Chris, Vinnie and I were in perfect harmony and everyone gave incredible performances'.
Joe Satriani will play in Italy in May: 26 in Rimini, 28 in Naples, 29 in Rome, 30 in Trezzo Sull'Adda (MI), 31 in Florence and as a last date on 1 June in Padua.

For 20 years, Satriani has toured the world performing sold-out concerts as a headliner and as the founder of G3, a musical project that brings together the world's three greatest guitarists. To date, his studio and live albums have sold more than 10 million copies worldwide; two of his solo albums are platinum and four are gold records. In addition, the musician has earned 15 Grammy nominations. He also has a side project, Chickenfoot, which features him alongside Sammy Hagar (former Van Halen frontman), Michael Anthony (former Van Halen bassist) and Chad Smith (the drummer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers). The band's debut album was certified gold and the second studio album debuted in the charts at number 9. At the end of 2010, rising hip hop star Nicki Minaj sampled Satriani's classic 'Always With Me Always With You' in her track 'Right Through Me', contained on her multi-platinum debut album. In 2011, the guitarist recreated the performance of the US national anthem for the first day of the Oakland Athletics' historic 2002 season in the Brad Pitt film The Art of Winning.

"Some of my drawings have ended up on guitars, neck straps and picks, LP and CD booklets, T-shirts, caps, key rings and even in the sets of my tours," explains the guitar virtuoso. "This book represents my first attempt to collect the various characters I have drawn in a portfolio: a collection of drawings that is meant to inspire and entertain".
