JOE SATRIANI, THE GUITAR HERO IN FOUR ITALIAN THEATRES

After the success of last summer's European tour, Joe Satriani returns to Italy with his new The Shockwave Tour for four dates, for the first time only in theatres: Monday 5 October 2015 at the Teatro della Luna in Assago (MI), Tuesday 6 October at the Teatro Obihall in Florence, Wednesday 7 October in the Sala Santa Cecilia of the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome and Thursday 8 October at the PalaRiviera in San Benedetto del Tronto (AP). Tickets are available from Ticketone and points of sale Vivaticket.

In May 2013, Joe Satriani released his latest solo album, 'Unstoppable Momentum". Recorded at the Skywalker Sound studio near San Francisco, the album was produced by Satriani and Mike Fraser (AC/DC) and contains eleven tracks featuring first-class musicians such as Vinnie Colauita (Sting, Jeff Beck, Frank Zappa, Megadeth) on drums, Chris Chaney (Janes Addiction) on bass and Mike Keneally (Dethklok) on keyboards.

After starting his career as a teacher of some of the leading guitarists of the 1980s and 1990s, such as Metallica's Kirk Hammet and Steve Vai, Joe Satriani has been recognised worldwide as one of the most influential rock guitarists since the 1987 release of his debut album 'Surfing With The Alien'. Since then Satriani, who cites Jimi Hendrix as his main influence, has consolidated his reputation as a six-string phenomenon: Mick Jagger chose him in 1988 to accompany him around the world on his first solo tour, and Deep Purple called him to play with them in Europe and Japan in '95. After releasing several acclaimed solo albums, Satriani started the G3 project in 1996, and embarked on a series of sold-out tours to the four corners of the globe alongside Steve Vai and Eric Johnson. In 2009, he teamed up with Van Halen's Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony and the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith to form Chickenfoot, with whom he released his eponymous debut album, followed by 2011's 'III'. With the supergroup, Satriani embarked on a European tour in 2012; in the same year, he released the DVD/Blu-Ray of the 3D film 'Satchurated: Live In Montreal'.

During the Shockwave Tour, Joe Satriani will be accompanied by an exceptional band consisting of Mike Keneally (keyboards, guitar), Marco Minnemann (drums) and Bryan Beller (bass).
