Jon Anderson, the great front-man of the YES, will bring his 'Solo Work in Progress Tour of the Universe' to Europe in September and October. Seventeen dates in all, including a single Italian date, 23 September at the Milan Conservatory.
Anderson finished the American part of his tour in 2004, performing in the States and Latin America. The songs on this tour include a wide selection of Anderson's solo works, YES classics, and material from his collaboration with Greek Vangeliswith many tracks completely rearranged.
The set played includes many new songs ("This is", "Don't Think Twice", "Father Sky", "White Buffalo"), excerpts from "Yours is No Disgrace" (rearranged in a slower key), "Your Move", "Long Distance Runaround", "And You and I" , "I've Seen All Good People", the opening of "The Revealing Science of God", "Soon", "Nous Sommes du Soleil". Also appearing are "State of Independence" and "I'll Find My Way Home" (from Anderson's album with Vangelis' The Friends of Mr Cairo). And then: 'Boundaries', 'Change We Must'. , 'Show Me', 'Owner of a Lonely Heart', 'Richard', 'Concert Two', stanzas from 'Amazing Grace', 'Song of Seven' and even a harp solo (usually one of three harp pieces from EarthMotherEarth). Reportedly, 'Italian Song' has long been rehearsed in the studio, but never performed live, except for the first show in Latin America. Maybe Milan will be a good opportunity to play it.
Anderson, the only musician on stage, will play his MIDI guitar, acoustic guitar, keyboards and harp, also using recorded backgrounds (including those of the Millikan Choir). Behind him, screens will alternate with various visuals in typical YES style, created by Dale Chini and Jonathan Bodge.
From the chronicles of the American tour, a very sociable and intimate Jon Anderson emerges, eager to interact with the public and prodigal in telling stories and anecdotes.
Tickets for the Milan date are already on sale in the Ticketone circuit and usual presale outlets.
