IN THE FOURTH EDITION THE TEN DAYS OF SOUND COME TO MILAN: ALL THE DETAILS

Ten Days Playedthe summer festival organised for the fourth consecutive year by Barley Arts, in summer 2013 changes venue but not substance: no longer at the Castello Sforzesco in Vigevano, the beautiful setting that hosted the first three editions, but spread over various locations in and around Milan, always and in any case founded on the idea of offering a varied, non-trivial and world-class musical proposal.

The six concerts already announced will be held, on the same dates, respectively at the Ippodromo del Galoppo in Milan Motorhead (25 June) and Deep Purple (21 July), at Alcatraz the Black Crowes (3 July) with a concert that the band predicted would exceed two hours, at theOCA of Via Tortona George Thorogood (9 July) and Gov't Mule (10 July) e at the Brian May & Kerry Ellis Auditorium (17 July). They complete the programme of Ten Days Played Four other concerts are already scheduled in various city venues: the first, which will also officially open the festival, is that of Joe Satriani, on 30 May at Live in Trezzo, then Xavier Rudd at Magnolia (27 June), Van Der Graaf Generator (3 July) at Villa Clerici and finally Jonathan Wilson (22 July) at Carroponte in Sesto San Giovanni.

Claudio Trotta, creator and organiser of Ten Days Played with its Barley ArtsThis is how he recounts the painful but necessary decision to temporarily change a much sought-after venue, that of an ancient castle far from metropolitan noise, in favour of various city locations that are certainly less picturesque but have certain conveniences and logistical facilities that are not indifferent: "In an objectively complex period for the economy of the music industry, but also for that of our gentlemen customers - as I like to define the public that buys tickets for our concerts - I was faced with the choice of either continuing with an extremely onerous concept, that of an open-air festival in a place to be set up, or changing it in a creative way that did not distort it, by having it live in different locations, many of which are usual for music audiences and certainly more 'practical' from a logistical point of view. For this edition, the concerts confirmed for the festival at the Castle would have been 6, spread over a rather long period of time, more than a month, which would have further aggravated the running costs, in a foolish and unsustainable way this year. With the frankness that has always characterised me and my company, I prefer to face difficulties head-on: in a year in which so many festivals and exhibitions have chosen not to be there, we have chosen to temporarily change skin without cancelling any commitment to the public and artists, indeed adding other appointments, inviting everyone to Milan and the surrounding area this year instead of our beloved Magic Castle in Vigevano, to which we bid not farewell but goodbye“.

Ten Days Played In this new skin, however, it does not lose one of the elements that characterised its previous editions: Meeting the Author, which each evening will bring a writer to present his or her book to the audience before the concert. The calendar of meetings will be released shortly.

From a practical point of view, all tickets already purchased for the concerts at the Castle remain valid for the new venues. Regarding the concerts of Motorhead (25 June) and Deep Purple (21 July), at the Ippodromo del Galoppo di San Siro, in addition to the single seat, the Tribuna non numerata a sedere is available: those who wish to change the ticket already purchased can do so on the same evening at the Ippodromo box office, while places last, paying the difference on the nominal value of the tickets only.

For the Brian May & Kerry Ellis concert at the Auditorium in Milan, ticket holders must go to the theatre box office for seat allocation on the evening of the concert.
