First time in Italy for CITY OF THE SUN, the new promise of post-rock

One of the new promises of post-rock, the City of the Sunwill be in Italy for two dates not to be missed by fans of the genre: Tuesday 5 May at the Serraglio in Milan e Wednesday 6 May at Locomotiv Club in Bologna. I tickets will be available on the circuits Ticketone e Vivaticket (online and point of sale) from 10 a.m. on Wednesday 22 JanuaryTo access the concerts, you will need to be in possession of ACSI membership card (in Milan) e AICS membership card (in Bologna).

The power of the trio of City of the Sun overturns the perception of the concept of instrumental music, attracting new audiences to such a special genre. Formed in 2011, the City of the Sun are John Pita e Avi Snow on guitars and the percussionist Zach Para. The band's sound has influences that include indie rock, American folk, flamenco and blues: a mix of Rodrigo y Gabriela e Explosions In The Sky.

The trio has quickly established itself as one of the most interesting line-ups on the post-rock scene: it has racked up several sold-out shows at major New York indie venues (Brooklyn Steel, Irving Plaza, Bowery Ballroom and Gramercy Theater, to name a few), toured with Peter Bjorn & John, G.Love, STS9 e Thievery Corporation and participated in the soundtrack of the documentaries narrated by Morgan Freeman The C Word. After completing two European tours, in 2017 the band released UNTITLED EPwhose single Perfect Instance is reaching 24 million streams on Spotify. Now, after the release of Chapter I (2019), the line-up announces a new European tour including the two Italian dates.
