STEVE EARLE & THE DUKES : RETURN TO ITALY (WITH A PLEASANT SURPRISE)

'If I were a rock star, I would want to be Steve Earle', so famed filmmaker Michael Moore in a recent interview. Steve Earle is a rock star. But also much more than that. He is everything. He is the blues. He is the revolution. He is the face of a guy who spent years in jail, interspersed with fights, drugs and a reckless life. In Steve Earle's body the souls of Sid Vicious, Jim Morrison, and Elvis Presley could coexist. Without exaggeration.

"The Revolution Starts.. Now" : the revolution starts now, that is the title of his latest album. And the great blues man is still the same: fiercely angry against the American system, against all kinds of war and against the death penalty. An album with a strong political content, without worrying about that damned censorship that in the States had largely boycotted his then last work, '.Jerusalem' and that track, 'John Walker Blues', considered pro-Taliban and pro-terrorism.
But Steve Earle doesn't give a damn. And, indeed, he ferociously sings his 'Fuck the CC, Fuck the FBI, Fuck the CIA'.

Two dates in Italy for the Grande, scheduled for 19 May in Milan and 20 to Verona. On stage with him the trusty DUKES namely Kelely Looney, Patrick Earle, Eric Roscoe and Will Rigby. In addition, a welcome surprise as a special guest: the charming ALLISON MOORER, a name that may not sound new for his 'A Soft Place To Fall', a 1998 Oscar nomination for the film 'The Man Who Whispered To Horses' (a short excerpt in the Barley Box on the right). His latest work is "The duel"which came out last year. Give it your attention if you have a moment.
