STREEAT in Rome records over 50,000 admissions! Next stop: FLORENCE!

After serving almost 6,000 meals each and stapled more than 13,000 litres of beer for the 50,000 people who took part in the Rome leg of the STREEAT FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL - the only Italian festival entirely dedicated to quality food on wheels and with FREE ADMISSION - the trucks are ready to continue their journey, stopping for the first time in FLORENCE from 10 to 12 April (Piazzale del Parco delle Cascine, hours Friday 16.00-01.00 Saturday and Sunday 11.00-01.00).

The first Italian festival entirely dedicated 'to street food' will now involve the Tuscan capital in a three-day event where food will be the absolute protagonist: not only thanks to the pleasures of the palate, but also to a series of side events such as music, entertainment, meetings and debates.

There are 28 trucks taking part in this stage of the festival, including some from Tuscany itself.
For three days, the 'cooks on wheels' return to live together as one big family, this time in the Piazzale del Parco delle Cascine in Florence, always helping and supporting each other: there are those who stay awake at night to follow the slow and long smoking of the meat and keep 'watch' over the other trucks, and those who refresh the last of the tireless workers at 2.00 a.m. with their fried and 'chocolatey' sweets.

In addition, to enrich the days, a number of debates held by experts in the field:
Friday 10 April (6.30 p.m.)
Water, food, climate change

Round Table with: Filippo Vannoni (President Publiacqua), Mauro Perini (President WRF), Giorgio Federici (Ordinary Department of Civil and Environmental Sciences-UNIFI), Bernardo Gozzini (Director Lamma Consortium), Anna Dalla Marta (Research Associate Department of Food and Environmental Sciences-UNIFI).
Saturday, 11 April (6 p.m.)
History and traditions of street food, nutritional values and links with the territory. By Dr Amelia La Malfa

All foodtrucks with their specialities can be found on the official Streeat website.

Everything will be accompanied by the ad hoc music selection by D-Trot e A-Bellucci.

With ActionAid, partner of the 2015 edition of the Streeat Foodtruck Festival, during the three-day Festival in Florence will talk about "waste and food" while children can take part in the workshops included in the educational kit "Io mangio tutto: no al cibo nella spazzatura" (I eat everything: no food in the bin). In particular, during Saturday afternoon, the great "Goose game" on a human scale will guide children to discover the "right" foods, i.e. foods that are in season, grown in a short supply chain, in a sustainable and organic way and with respect for workers' rights. Through this tool ActionAid intends to raise children's awareness on the issue of proper nutrition and food waste in the world.

These are the next scheduled stages: 24, 25, 26 April in Bologna (Parco 11 Settembre); 15, 16, 17 May in Sarzana - SP (Piazza Matteotti); 29, 30, 31 May in Milan (Carroponte); 5, 6, 7 June in Padua (Gran Teatro Geox - Outdoor); 18, 19, 20 September in Milan (Carroponte).
