STREEAT - A CROWD BATH FOR THE FIRST EDITION OF THE FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL IN MILAN

Thank you Milan, thank you all who last weekend chose STREEAT, the first edition of the Food Truck Festival that took over the Fabbrica del Vapore between 30 May and 1 June. Let's start with a few numbers:

18 trucks, over 15 thousand people of all ages passed through the Fabbrica del Vapore, over 30 types of food served. And this is only the beginning for an event that sees a long future ahead. Apart from the data that we will provide with this press release, what we would like to emphasise in the aftermath of the end of the event is the festive and serene atmosphere that reigned during the course of the three days. Not even the threatening weather on Friday evening could stop the desire to participate of food truck enthusiasts, the curious and those who simply wanted to spend a nice day.

The numbers of the first edition of Streeat exceeded the expectations of both the organisers and the Trucks themselves, some of whom had to, shortly before the end of the event, put up a sold-out sign saying 'You ate it all, thank you Milan'. Streeat, thanks to the very successful first edition, can only get better from now on, treasuring every event, every issue and every comment we have collected over the last few days. In the aftermath of Streeat, we declared that the aim of the Festival was to create an event of good street food and above all to network among the first Italian Food Trucks on the heels of an event like EXPO Milano 2015. We can consciously say that we hit the mark, without a doubt.

As announced, there was not only food: the music selected by D-Trot and Rust served as a pleasant background throughout the festival.

They entertained the audience Don Pasta (Music & ShowCooking) and Chef RUBIO, with the UNTI&BISUNTI Truck. But also Clara and Gigi Padovani with their latest book 'StreetFood all'italiana' (Giunti), Beniamino Nespor and Eugenio Roncoroni of 'Al Mercato' with their book 'StreetFood d'Autore', and Luca Iaccarinoauthor of 'Cibo di Strada' (Mondadori).

What the people of STREEAT chose, in numbers: 1,500 miasse, over 4,000 pizzas and focaccias, around 6,000 ice creams, 1,600 Chianina meat sandwiches, around 150 kg of tartare and 20 kg of chicken.

More than 5,000 hamburgers, 3,000 arancini, 5,000 fried fish and Ascoli olive dishes were cooked, 2,000 hot dogs were consumed and more than 1,000 coffees, two thousand soft drinks and centrifuges and 10,000 beers were drunk.
