THE SISTERS OF MERCY: historic gothic rock band returns to Italy in 2020

Ten years since the last concert in Italy, The Sisters Of Mercy announce a date in our country: the English gothic rock band will in fact perform Thursday 26th March 2020 to theAlcatraz by Milan. Tickets will be available from from 10 a.m. on Wednesday 20 November on circuits Vivaticket, Ticketmaster e Ticketone (online and point of sale).

The Milan date will be an unmissable opportunity to look back over the group's discography gothic and sing their hits, including Alicespectral cover of Gimme Shelter of Rolling Stones, Vision Thing, Temple Of Lovewhose 1992 version is the band's biggest commercial success, and many other tracks composed during the band's 40-year history. Over the course of their long career, The Sisters Of Mercy have experimented with different genres, while always remaining faithful to their iconic style darkinfluenced by the morbid ballads of Velvet Underground and the Stooges, from theart-rock and theelectronics.

The Sisters Of Mercy formed in 1980 in Leeds, England, taking their name from the Sisters of Mercy (sisters of mercy), the prostitutes in the song of the same name by Leonard Cohen: "We liked the ambiguity between the original meaning of the expression, which referred to an order of nuns, and that adopted by Cohen". explains the singer Andrew Eldritch. The disturbing soul of their music, which constitutes a fundamental page of the dark-rock e post-punk. Indeed, from the very first years of their career, the group established itself in the dark Olympus alongside bands such as Siouxsie and The Banshees, The Cure, Bauhaus e Joy Division. The shaman voice of darkness of Eldritch remains, along with those of Peter Murphy e Siouxsie Siouxamong the most exciting in the entire Gothic genre.
