In 1970 the Van der Graaf Generator release what is considered to be their first album The Least We Can Do Is Wave To Each Otherwhose anniversary will be celebrated next year with an international tour during which the three historic band members will revive the emotions of their music to the public. The band was founded in 1967 in Manchester and began to make a name for themselves on the vibrant British music scene with their own particular musical vision made up of elements of jazz, electronica, classical, blues and soul. I Van der Graaf Generator are a rock quartet that uses instruments such as organ, flute, saxophone and piano instead of guitars, modifying their sounds with sophisticated overdubbing effects that were absolutely avant-garde for the time. Albums such as H to He, Who Am the Only One (Charisma Records, 1970), Pawn Hearts (Charisma Records, 1971) e Still Life (Charisma Records, 1976) best capture the essence of a band that nevertheless expresses itself best in the live dimension. Between 1969 and 1978 the Van Der Graaf Generator They spent entire years on particularly demanding tours and found an adoring and vast audience in Italy. An incredible experience that in a few years led the various members of the group to seek respite in solo experiences (in which, moreover, they often collaborated with other VdGG). Peter Hammill is certainly the one that has gained the most visibility over the years with a consistently original and varied musical production that also earned him a Tenco Lifetime Achievement Award. The present speaks of a Peter Hammill always in full activity both as a soloist and with the band: the Van der Graaf Generator They have not stopped performing and are preparing to conquer the hearts of Italian fans once again.
