From deep in Texas comes country-folk singer for the first time in Italy Hayes Carll with his inseparable guitar, to present his third discography 'Trouble in my mind'released in April on the Lost Higway label. He will take the stage for three consecutive evenings: Saturday 27 September will be at theOld Church of Perego (LC), Sunday 28 September at Casnigo Theatre (BG) e Monday 29 September at House 139 in Milan.
Hayes Carll is a 32-year-old from Houston (USA), whose musical adventure began at the age of fifteen, when he received his first guitar as a gift. Hayes spent his school breaks strumming the instrument and writing stories and thoughts in a notebook, preparing himself for what would become his profession. The experience that radically influenced his future, however, was when he moved to Crystal Beach, also in the United States, after finishing school. Texaswhere he began playing in local bars and getting to know the community there, whose stories and anecdotes would feed into the lyrics of his debut album Flowers & Liquor' of the 2002. The 2005 is the year of 'Little Rock'which became the first self-produced album to reach the top of the American Music Chart. Thus began a tour in North America and abroad, which took him three years with an average of two hundred concerts per year. Meanwhile, Carll does not stop writing, which allows him to record in the summer 2008 the third job 'Trouble in my mind'which immediately won a nomination for best album of the year from theAmericana Honours&Awardsalong with Best Song of the Year for the single 'She left me for Jesus'. The award ceremony is scheduled for 18 September 2008 in Nashville, but positive response or not, many have identified Hayes Carll as the heir to the old-school American folk-countrywhose roots start from Bob Dylan and unfold in the emotionality of Guy Clark and in the textual evocativeness of Townes Van Zandtwith the stylistic tone of Steve Earle and the spirituality of Ray Wilie Hubbard. The new work is permeated by the rock and 'on the road' soul that has always characterised Hayes, a soul that at the same time is not afraid to show itself as vulnerable and intimate, tied to its origins and its city.
For the Italian dates, which will conclude the tour that began this summer in the United States, Hayes Carll will perform solo voice and guitar version. It will be preceded on all three dates by a unplugged opening concert by an Italian special guest.
