Joe Pug will take the stage at the Circolo Arci Kalinka in Carpi (MO) on 4 December for an unplugged solo concert, but this will not be the only opportunity to hear him play. It will in fact be the special guest of the three concerts that Steve Earle held from 1 to 3 December in Milan, Rome and Faenza (RA)respectively at the Salumeria della Musica, Circolo degli Artisti and Teatro Masini.
The road to success for the young American Joe Pug was not the easiest of tasks, but his tenacity and passion, together with his undeniable talent, paid off. A carpenter by day and musician by night, he managed to record his first songs in Chicago, which were then included on his first EP The Nation Of Heat. The live consecration came in May 2008 with a sold-out concert at the Shubas Tabern in Chicago, after which he received public and critical acclaim. This summer he played at the Lollapalooza and the Newport Folk Festival and has recently embarked on a tour that will start in the United States and visit much of Europe, including Italy. At just 25 years old, Joe Pug is considered one of the most promising folk/rock songwriters, with a musical style that draws on early Springsteen and Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie and Johnny Cash.
