10/6/08: THE NEW YORK DOLLS IN ITALY!

They got back together in 2004! I NEW YORK DOLLS, a band fundamental to the glam and punk scene, which traced the attitudinal co-ordinates of the generation at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s, is now enjoying the success and recognition that it had unjustly not achieved between 1971 and 1978, the most prolific years of their career. Their musical and scenic contribution to the punk universe, which was to shake up the entire music scene on the other side of the ocean a few months later, came through their 1973 eponymous debut and second album 'Too much too soon'.
Many line-up changes (there are only two original members of the band) have never shaken the spirit of the New York Dolls, whose reunion in 2004 caused much fan and industry insider hype.
This comeback resulted in the 2006 album "One day it will please us to remember even this".capable, almost thirty years after disbanding, of rekindling the fuse.
The two minds of the New York Dolls, David Johansen (voice) and Sylvain Sylvain (guitar), they decided to reconstitute the historic band under the impetus of Morriseyfan and friend of the Dolls. The two historical members were joined by Sam Yaffa on bass (already with the glam band Hanoi Rocks), Steve Conte on the second guitar, Brian Delaney to the battery and Brian Koonin on keyboards.
With this formation we will see them on 24 July in Italy in Stezzano, province of Bergamo, as part of the 'Druso under the Sky' Festival and the Rock Planet in Pinarella di Cervia on 25.
