14/2/11: WOLFMOTHER'S WALL OF SOUND RETURNS TO ITALY IN JUNE

WOLFMOTHER's wall of sound is about to hit Italy again: the only date on 7 June at the Live Club in Trezzo d'Adda, which will see the return of the Australian band after three years since their last Italian gig.

Despite rumours of their disbandment after the resounding success of their first self-titled album, released in 2005, the curly-haired leader Andrew Stockdale (vocals and guitar) took over the band, revolutionising the line-up, to complete the second album 'Cosmic Egg'which was released in October 2009 and was able to replicate the success of its predecessor. With almost two million copies sold in the last five years, WOLFMOTHER are definitely one of the most successful rock bands of the new generation. Stockdale's 'Zeppelin-esque' vocals and the Seventies, stoner and psychedelic sound of their songs is a beautiful flashback to the best age of rock, brought to life through the compositional talent of this Australian band.

The Live date in Trezzo is a real exclusive for the Italian audience, who will enjoy a full concert by the band, who will be back from Rock Am Ring (Munich) on 3 June and Rock Im Park (Nuremberg) on the 5th.

Wolfmother's current line-up consists of, in addition to Andrew Stockdale, guitarist Aidan Nemeth, bassist and keyboardist Ian Peres and drummer Dave Atkins.

In 2007, they won the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Song and the Brit Award for Best New Artist. Their success was immediate and overwhelming, so much so that Wolfmother risked not withstanding the role that was emerging for them within the international rock scene.

With the addition of a new rhythm section, Andrew Stockdale got this wonderful thing going again and the second album, 'Cosmic Egg', is another 2000s rock gem.
