Robynafter the success of the single 'With Every Heartbeat', arrives in Italy to play the new album and make us dance to the pop-electronic rhythms with which he is making a name for himself across the continent. It will be Saturday 20 September at Alcatraz in Milanwithin the new Milanese event Rock City Night.
Robin Miriam Carlsson was born in Stockholm in 1979 and at only thirteen years old was discovered by Swedish singer Meja, who got her a contract with BMG. A few years later, she collaborated with Max Martin, who would later contribute to the success of Britney Spears, and churned out the hit 'Show Me Love' (1997) contained in the debut pop album 'Robyn is here'. After two more records and a change of label, Robyn, this is the name under which she became known to the world, was dazzled by the futuristic sound of the Swedish duo The Knife, contacted them and realised with them Who's that girl'.
He then decided to self-produce, founding a record label of which he also became General Manager, the Konichiwa Recordsfor which the album bearing her stage name was released. The success is overwhelming: Robyn is also popular outside her country and is hailed as a new pop icon, by many even as the heir to Madonna (not surprisingly, Miss Ciccone had her open some European dates on the Sticky&Sweety Tour 2008). The single 'With every heartbeat'in which he collaborated with DJ Kleerup, became one of the most danced to songs in European dancefloors, including Italy. Over the years, prestigious collaborations have been added, such as those with Snoop Dogg and Basament Jaxx, reconfirming the fact that her musical creations are versatile and lend themselves to the mixing of different genres, from hip hop to electronic. Robyn is proving that it is possible to remain in the mainstream pop scene while still allowing herself a wide margin of autonomy and flair, a Nordic talent the likes of which has not been seen since Abba.
Robyn was a special guest on several European dates of MADONNA's tour in 2008.
Robyn will perform as part of Rock City Night, a new reality of Saturday night in Milan, which promises to bring the most extravagant and trendy international acts to Alcatraz, one of Europe's biggest clubs, transforming the venue into a huge 'live' dance floor.
