The 19-year-old Jan Paternoster (vocals and guitar) and the 17-year-old Dries Von Dijck (drums) apply with their debut Set your head on fire to be among the most important new faces in rock in 2009. The dirty music of sanguine blues and rock & roll that lives on in the energy of these two Belgian teenagers is rooted in the notes of Jimmy Page, Mick jagger and other pillars of the genre.
Inevitably, as a matter of training, they were juxtaposed with the The White Stripes but age and musical background have shaped their sound differently.
Together since 2006, they recently released their first album, praised by most of the specialised critics who see in them the new promise of European rock & roll.
Their shows are the ultimate expression of the energy of this duo that can be as enthralling as a five-piece band.
