Special opening act for the Milan date of Lenny Kravitz, expected on 14 July at the Arena Civica in Milan: it will in fact be Martina Topley Bird to open the dances of one of the most prestigious events of the Milano Jazzin' Festival.
For Martina Topley Bird, the one with Lenny at the Arena Civica, will be his only show in Italy this season. The London-based musician, a true star of British independent music since her early days linked to former partner Trickyhas just released his second album, The Blue God, produced by Brian Burton (the other half of Gnarls Barkley). As with the previous Quixotic (from 2003), on which both Tricky and Josh Homme e Mark Lanegan (Queens of The Stone Age), also in The Blue God the primary characteristic is the ability to Martina Topley Bird to create a classy melting pot of sound that duly blends soul, electronics and indispensable rock veins.
