Four big names already confirmed for post-summer and autumn 2010: EELS, JOE SATRIANI, ADRIAN BELEW POWER TRIO and DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS.
The EELS (pictured) will be the 15 September at Alcatraz, Milan, on tour after having released three works in little more than twelve months, "Hombre Lobo', 'End Times' and the forthcoming 'Tomorrow Morning'., due out on 24 August.
Mr E also found time to write and publish the book "Things the Grandchildren Should Knownow translated into Italian and available in our bookshops since a few days. The EELS have been missing from Italy since 2008 when they toured the two commemorative albums 'Essential' and 'Useless Trinketts'. Mr E will start touring on 3 August in California and for the first time will get to play live the songs from the trilogy that EELS released over the past year.
JOE SATRIANI has instead just announced his next tour, called simply "Live 2010"Satriani will be back on the scene as a soloist from October, after his successful interlude with Chickenfoot, immortalised in the recent DVD that recounts that extraordinary musical adventure. It was precisely on that occasion (two dates in July 2009) that we were able to admire Satriani in Italy for the last time. The guitar-hero par excellence now returns with his band for three dates in November: 11 in Milan (Alcatraz), 12 in Padua (Gran Teatro) and 14 in Rome (Pala Atlantico).
In the occasion of Joe Satriani's Milan concert we will be lucky enough to find 'THE ADRIAN BELEW POWER TRIO' as special guest. The former King Crimson will then be the 12 November at the Bronson in Ravenna and the following day in Bari, for the TimeZones festival. With this new line-up, Adrian released his first and only official album in June 2009, followed by a live album, 'Overseas', a very rare record that was only available as an import.
In addition to Belew himself on vocals and guitar, the Power Trio consists of Julie and Eric Slickon bass and drums respectively.
The Americans DRIVE BY-TRUCKERS bring their sanguine and sparkling blend of southern rock, blues and stoner to the Salumeria della Musica in Milan on 21 November for their only Italian date. The band released their latest album last March, entitled 'The big to do', from which is extracted the magnificent new video for the single 'Working this Job (the fucking job)', currently available for streaming on their websitewww.drivebytruckers.com
