One of the most beloved bands in the history of rock music, some of the songs that have stayed in the memory of at least three generations, an icon named Jim Morrison, a great band called THE DOORS.
At last Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger, the two musicians who put the cursed poems of the Lizard King into notes, are bringing The Doors' masterpieces back to European stages and with two stops in Italy, on 9 July at the Pistoia Blues Festival and the following day in Friuli Venezia Giulia, the location of which is still being defined.
After names with great media impact, not least Ian Astbury, voice of The Cult, it will be Dave Brock to take over the microphone. Do you remember the movie 'Rockstar', where the singer of the tribute band is chosen by that same band to replace the resigned leader? That is exactly what happens today with The Doors. Dave Brock, literally adored by the band's fans and for many years pointed out as the only true possible heir to the art of Jim Morrison, realises his dream after a good twenty years at the helm of Wild Child, resident band at Whiskey A Go Go in Los Angeles. His resemblance, not only vocally but also physically, earned him a cameo as the Doors' leader back in 1992 in the film 'Death Becomes Her' (translated as 'Death Makes You Beautiful' in Italy).
The European tour coincides with a special anniversary, for forty years earlier, on 3 July 1971, Jim Morrison, an undisputed icon in the history of international rock music, died prematurely in Paris.
What we will witness will be a unique live show with the entire historical repertoire of the Californian band from 'Light My Fire' to 'Riders On The Storm', from 'Roadhouse Blues' and 'Break on Through' to 'Waiting For The Sun'. Also on stage were Phil Chen on bass and Ty Dennis on drums.
