I Marta sui Tubi were called by Manuel Agnelli for the 1 May Festival in RomeThey will be part of a 'superband' linked to the 'Il Paese è Reale' project consisting, in addition to the Marta themselves, of Cesare Basile, Paolo Benvegnù, Beatrice Antolini, Dente and Roberto Angelini. It will be a collective performance where there will be no shortage of surprises.
February saw the start of the partnership between one of the Italian groups that have distinguished themselves most in recent years for the intensity of their concerts and Barley Arts: Marta sui Tubi will be coming Saturday 9 May in the city to which they have dedicated the title of their latest album: 'Sushi and coke' is the provocation they dedicate to Milan, a land that, despite the title, they particularly love and consider as a second home. Giovanni Gulino, Carmelo Pipitone and Ivan Paolini have been touring every part of Italy since 2008: almost twenty concerts so far in 2009 alone, and many more planned, for what many believe is emerging as the live revelation band par excellence of recent years. 'Sushi and Coca' was released on 3 October 2008 and is the result of months of work together with producer Taketo Gohara, already with Vinicio Capossela, Verdena and Mauro Pagani. With the inclusion of Paolo Pischedda on piano and hammond organ, Marta sui Tubi have made their most ambitious and experimental record to date. Also on stage live will be Mattia Boschi on the cello. Three singles have already been released: "They Don't Know", "Kinaesthetic".which won the 2008 PVI award for best video ever, and the recent 'Groceries'.
The 'Sushi & Coca' tour, in collaboration with CYC Promotions started last October, it will continue throughout 2009.
