Brandi Carlile was originally supposed to arrive in Italy with the support tour for the album 'Give up the Ghost' last May, when the cloud created by volcanic fumes from Iceland blocked most European flights. The financial damages of that cancellation now do not allow the tour, which was supposed to hit Milan on 10 November at the Salumeria della Musica, for a date already close to being sold out. His letter to the fans:
“On behalf of myself and my band, I am deeply saddened to have to cancel the tour to Europe, Ireland and the UK this autumn. We suffered a great financial loss as a result of the postponement of the tour caused by the volcanic fumes that affected our travels, but we immediately decided to reschedule the tour for the autumn. Unfortunately, the resources for the tour have totally dried up and we are no longer able to sustain the trip. It is the most bitter decision I have ever had to make as an artist and I can assure you that it was not taken lightly. I know that many of you have already bought tickets and planned trips to attend our concerts and I therefore wanted to offer my sincere apologies. The twins and I love Europe and the affection of the fans who have always supported us over the last few years. It has been like a dream come true and we will visit again soon."
