The Hooverphonicled by the enchanting and romantic voice of Geike Arnaent, announce their live return Wednesday 23 May at Casa 139 in Milanto present the latest album 'The President of the LSD Golf Club' released in March in Italy by Spin-go.
The Belgian trio, consisting of Geike Arnaent (on vocals), Alex Callier (on bass and keyboards, composer and songwriter) and Raymond Geerts (on guitar)came to prominence in 2000 with the single 'Mad About You'taken from the successful third album 'The Magnificent Tree'album that sold hundreds of thousands of copies in 2000 alone. In 2002 it was the turn of the concept album 'Hooverphonic Presents Jackie Cane' awarded a gold disc in Belgium and an Mtv Music Award in the same year of release. In 2005 the band composed 'No More Sweet Music', a double album containing new tracks in original version and the same tracks remixed by Callier. With this work, the band affirmed their musical leaning towards electro-acoustic pop.
This year Hooverphonic return to Italy to present their latest studio work, 'The President of the LSD Golf Club'made during the spring of 2007 at the same time as their ten-year anniversary tour: another example of their music labelled 'trip-hop' for the dreamy, relaxed and dreamlike effect achieved by the combination of electronic instruments and orchestra.
It will be Jerboa, a Belgian DJ with innate talent, to open their concert with his first full-length 'Music For My Instruments' released in 2005.
