Italian fans will have to wait a little longer before they see Scissor Sisters on stage: having cancelled, due to the intensification of promotional commitments abroad, the concert scheduled for 21 July at the Vigevano Castle as part of the '10 Giorni Suonati' festival, Jake Shears and Ana Matronic's band now confirms well two dates next winter, on 10 November at Milan's Alcatraz and on the 11th at Rome's Pala Atlantico.
Tickets purchased for the concert in Vigevano will not be reusable, and those in possession of them must request a refund at the point of sale no later than 5 August.
These days the Scissor Sisters have released the new album "Night Work', sequel to the phenomenal 'Ta-Dah' which, released in 2006, with 1.4 million copies sold in the UK alone was one of the records of the millennium. One of the biggest bands of the last decade in the UK, but New Yorkers d.o.c., Scissor Sisters consist of vocalists Jake Shears e Ana Matronickeyboardist and bassist Babydaddyby guitarists Del Marquis e Derek G and the drummer Paddy Boom. They became a case between 2003 and 2004 with their bizarre cover of a Pink Floyd song, 'Comfortably numb', which shows the group's propensity to combine references as diverse as rock, glam and dance. The consecration comes with the release of the single "I don't feel like dancin'', which also boasts a collaboration with Elton John. "Night Work", anticipated on radio by the single "Fire With Fire"It is a dance album, but not only: between electronics, pop flashes and brilliant falsettos, it hints at the true 'live' matrix of a decidedly 'hype' band.
The Scissor Sisters have been missing from Italy since 2007, when the curiosity to see the new masters of dancefloors all over the planet live was repaid by their refined yet disruptive concerts, in which the amusing glamour with which the band surrounds itself appeared immediately corroborated by an inspired musical vein. "The mystique of the dancefloor!" Jake calls it. "A kind of tribal spirit that creates a very strong bond between individuals." Nothing less than a wonderful live show.
