Belgian singer-songwriter Jonathan Vandenbroeck, known to most as Milow, enjoyed huge success in charts across Europe with his cover of 'Ayo Technology', a song by rapper 50 Cent and Justin Timberlake that hit radio in summer 2009. Milow had burst onto the music scene in 2004, becoming a finalist in the 'Humo's Rock Rally' rock contest, the most important in Belgium, and from then on he had won several awards and accolades. The first album 'The Bigger Picture' was released domestically in 2006, but the real breakthrough came in 2008, when he was asked to perform a cover of a famous song during the broadcast of a Belgian radio programme. Milow's choice is unusual, but proves to be a winner; he offers an acoustic version of 'Ayo Technology', giving it a pathos and depth unthinkable for an R&B hit played mostly in clubs and with very bold lyrics. The reinterpretation was so successful that an independent label released it as a single, which soon reached the rest of Europe from Belgium. It is accompanied by a provocative video with a strong visual impact that quickly surpasses twenty million views on YouTube and begins to be broadcast on major European music stations.
