Born and raised in the deep English province of Settle, North Yorkshire, John began composing music self-taught at the age of 15, with the help of an acoustic guitar and a laptop. After attending the College of Music in Leeds, John moved to London, where he quickly progressed from gigs in local pubs to television appearances on the likes ofLater with Jools HollandeChristmas Top Of The Pops: the rest is recent history.
