It is an incredible story that of
Seasick Steveat the registry office Steven Gene Woldclass of 1951. Active on the blues scene since the early 1960s, the musician from Oakland, California, has collected a series of adventurous life experiences that have become material for his late, but fortunate, artistic output. From moving through the American provinces, from Tennessee to Mississippi, holding seasonal jobs and practising vagabondage, to meeting musical legends such as Janis Joplin e Joni Mitchellfrom working as a busker in the Paris metro to being a producer for the Modest Mouse in the 1990s, until he moved to Norway where he published his first work under his own name, "Cheap"2001.

But it was in 2006 that the consecration of what until then had been a music outsider took place, quite unexpectedly. The occasion is his first appearance in the UK in the programme of Jools Holland "Annual Hootenanny"aired on the BBC on New Year's Eve. Steve performs a live version of 'Dog House Boogie"and his popularity suddenly explodes.

From there it is a succession of awards, from the Mojo Award 2007 as "Best Breakthrough Act"participation in the most important festivals in what seems to have become his adopted country (Glastonbury, Leeds, Reading)sold out, in 2011, at the Milton Keynes National Bowlwhere Steve performs alongside Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters e John Paul Jones (former bassist of Led Zeppelin) in front of 65,000 people.

Steve's latest studio work, 'Hubcap Music"Right from the title, it reflects the unconventional nature of its author. In fact, the album takes its name from the musician's customised guitar, built using two rim studs and a garden spade. Recorded with totally analogue techniques and using vintage instrumentation, the album features guests of the calibre of John Paul Jones bass and Jack White on guitar (in the song 'The Way I Do').

The first single taken from 'Hubcap Music" è "Down On The Farm"In the style of the Black Keys' 'Lonely Boy', the video for the song reveals the self-deprecating spirit of the musician, who is filmed dancing in front of his farmhouse while harnessing his hubcap guitar.
