MEET HIM UP CLOSE: STEVE HARRIS BRITISH LION IN CLUBS IN FEBRUARY

Steve Harris, Iron Maiden's founder, leader and bassist, is taking a short break from his creature for the first time in his long career to embark on a European tour with his new solo project under the name Steve Harris British Lion.
This news will leave many Maiden fans, unaccustomed to seeing Steve in a different and more intimate context, pleasantly surprised. In order to see the most famous and popular bass player in the history of British metal in a club again, which is very rare nowadays, there will be two occasions in Italy: the 27 February at Live in Trezzo (MI) and on the 28th at the Orion in Rome.
It was the desire to get back in touch with his audience that led Steve Harris to the decision to go on tour with British Lion: "I can't wait to savour the warm atmosphere of small, wet, noisy clubs again, looking my fans right in the eye.
"The other members of this project," Steve continues, "are great musicians who I have known for many, many years and who have always collaborated with me on my rare breaks from Iron Maiden. This is therefore not an improvised project, as we have incorporated the best of years of compositions, rehearsals and great songs into our debut."
British Lion, released in September 2012, is Steve Harris' very first solo album and his first recording appearance outside of Iron Maiden. Together with him, we find Richard Taylor on vocals, David Hawkins on guitars and keyboards, Grahame Leslie on guitar and Simon Dawson on drums. The album's ten tracks were mixed by long-time Maiden producer Kevin Shirley.
