WAITING FOR 30 JULY IN ROME, SONATA ARCTICA ANNOUNCE WINTER TOUR

It will be 22 November at Alcatraz in Milan, the only Italian date of Sonata Arctica's indoor tourscheduled for next autumn/winter.
"Stones grow her name" World Tour 2012 is instead about to hit Rome (30 July at the Ippodromo delle Capannelle) in its open-air version.

The album - which gives the tour its title - was released on 18 May and is the seventh studio seal for the band consisting of Tony Kakko (vocals), Elias Viljanen (guitar), Tommy Portimo (drums), Marlo Paasikiski (bass) and Henrik Kingenberg (keyboard).
The Finnish band has not been in Italy since February 2011, and the upcoming summer tour, which will touch Rome in July and Milan in November, promises to be Sonata Arctica's most spectacular yet.

The band was born from the meeting of Tony Kakko, Tommy Portimo and Marko Paasikoski with former Pentti Peura (bass) and Jani Liimatainen (guitar) in 1996, in Kemi, Finland. Initially known under the name Tricky Beans, it wasn't until 1999 that they decided to change to the more epic monicker they have today.
Their debut album "Ecliptica" was already in the Finnish top 20, and thanks to numerous concerts as special guests for internationally renowned metal bands, from their friends Stratovarius to sacred monsters such as Alice Cooper, Sonata Arctica have become, album after album, a reference point in the European metal scene. Their most successful album was 'Reckoning Night', released in 2004.
