Allan Holdsworth on guitar, Terry Bozzio on drums, Tony Levin on bass and Pat Mastelotto on percussion: whoever thought it was impossible to put four 'monsters' of this level together was wrong, because on 18 April 2010 at the Live Club in Trezzo d'Adda (MI) we will see them all on the same stage.
Allan Holdsworthguitarist, born in 1946, has long been considered one of the finest musicians with his unmistakable jazz-fusion tone, which he has cultivated ever since he played with historic bands such as Tempest, Gong and Soft Machine in the 1970s. His solo career now boasts more than twenty albums, in which he has collaborated with the likes of Gary Husband, Jeff Berlin, Jimmy Johnson and Vinnie Colaiuta.
Terry Bozziothe 'Zappa' drummer par excellence, who grew up in the great Frank's court. After the untimely death of his discoverer, Terry continued to play with Zappa family musicians such as Warren Cuccurillo and Chick Wild. Of course Terry Bozzio was called upon by Dweezil for the Zappa Plays Zappa project.
Tony Levinif the bass stick is associated with one person, it is surely Tony Levin, particularly famous for his work with King Crimson and Peter Gabriel. He was then a member of several progressive rock formations, including the Liquid Tension Experiment in the company of two thirds of Dream Theater. However, Tony Levin appears on countless albums, from rock to pop, being considered one of the best bassists in the world.
Pat Mastelotto: Californian percussionist, known both for his time with King Crimson and for having worked with Al Jarreau, David Sylvian and many others. As a prelude to the project in question, remember the 'drum duo' in the company of Terry Bozzio himself.
No studio material will be recorded, according to the four protagonists: the concert will be one long jam that will enhance the qualities of the musicians. This is precisely why each tour date will be unique and different from the previous ones, relying almost entirely on improvisation.
