The Winery Dogs were born in 2012 from the meeting of three hard rock sacred monsters: singer and guitarist Richie Kotzen left its mark first with the Poison and then with the Mr. Bigband currently featuring bassist Billy Sheehanwhich in turn boasts collaborations with Steve Vai, David Lee Roth and many others, and finally Mike Portnoyco-founder of the Dream Theater and considered one of the best progressive metal drummers in the world.
Among the influences in this project, Portnoy includes rock pillars such as Led Zeppelin e Cream that alternative world artists including Soundgarden e Black Crowes. The first album, the eponymous 'The Winery Dogs'came out in 2013 for the Loud & Proud Records and achieved considerable success in the American charts, reaching number three in the Top Alternative Albums and 27th in the Top 100. The brand new 'Hot Streak'which came out only a few days ago, currently ranks 30th on the Billboard USA.
