After the confirmation of the summer date in Merano (BZ) Thursday 2 August, i Morcheeba add three new dates on the peninsula in November: Saturday 3 November at the Estragon in Bologna, Sunday 4 November in the Sala Sinopoli of the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome e Monday 5 November at Alcatraz in Milan. I tickets for this new round of concerts will be available on the circuit Vivaticket (online and points of sale) from 10 a.m. on Tuesday 8 May.
Radio Monte Carlo is the official radio partner of the autumn dates of the Morcheeba.
The global success of the Morcheeba is no surprise. The London band's sound has crossed every boundary since it emerged from the trip hop descent of the mid-1990s. After some line-up changes and the departure of DJ and producer Paul Godfrey in 2014, the Morcheeba have never been committed and up-to-date.
Blaze Away (2018)their ninth album, marks a return to their joyful mixture of genres from the early days. There was no set template for the ten extraordinary pieces that make up the work, no self-imposed limitations, themes to adhere to or rules to break. "Always being on tour around the world and understanding what works best on stage gave us the confidence to experiment," says the multi-instrumentalist Ross Godfreyalso currently the producer of the duo's music. "We drew heavily on influences from the early albums of the Morcheebafrom 1950s blues to 1990s hip hop, through psychedelic rock, dub reggae and electronica. We took inspiration from everything that felt right. At the same time, we wanted to capture the energy and love of our concerts, which are the true pillars of the band. A lot of Skye's vocal parts were recorded live, often in one take. Two songs are in French. None of the guests and collaborators were planned in advance: if we came across someone who would be fun to work with, we involved them in the project."
