With them a special guest exceptional,Rhoda Dakarwhich will enrich a show that already promises to be full of surprises. The band's European tour will touch down in seven different countries, passing through Shepherd's Bush Empireof Londonand will take their repertoire on the road, enriched by some revisited pieces with the presence of Rhoda Dakar, former voice of the all-female ska band The Bodysnatchers and the The Specialswho will also open the dances with his own DJ set. There will be many more surprises that the band prefers not to reveal at the moment!
I The Selecter are guided by the iconic frontwoman Pauline Black and co-founder Arthur 'Gaps' Hendrickson. Pauline is one of the very few women in the scene 2 Tone Ska and has therefore often been referred to as the Ska Queen, is a crucial figure in her genre, a great songwriter and a style icon.
The passion that has always characterised the The Selecter is still alive and they are more motivated than ever, despite the fact that many years have passed since Pauline and Arthur decided together to found the band. In the wake of hits such as Three Minute Hero, Missing Words, Too Much Pressure e On My Radiothe two are writing new music and seem unstoppable. In recent years the The Selecterhave managed to prove how important and fun it still is to make ska music and how much it is still appreciated. In 2017, they released an album entitled Daylight, necessary, politically committed and purely edifying work for them.
