Arriving in Italy Ady Suleiman, a young British singer-songwriter with a soulful soul, on his recording debut. The appointment is for Sunday 31 March at Circolo Ohibò in Milan. Entry is permitted to ARCI card holders and the tickets will be available from 10 a.m. on Friday 18 January on circuits Vivaticket e Ticketone (online and point of sale). The artist, who grew up in a small town near Nottinghamhas always loved music and is inspired by artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Lauryn Hill, B.B. King, Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles. As a child, he took guitar lessons and approached his idols, first interpreting old songs then writing his own, discovering almost as a joke that his passion could become his life's work.
His debut album, entitled Memories (Pemba Records)contains 13 tracks with a language that is both intimate and universal. The lyrics of Ady Suleiman always speak candidly about bad relationships, sex, youthful insecurity and the fear of not being in the right place in this world. Its vintage musical soul is in complete harmony with contemporary R&B, funk and jazz and his voice, warm and restless, engages at first hearing.
"For me the most important aspect of a song lyric is that people believe in it." Said Ady. "If people believe in it, they can identify with it. There is no point in pretending. I know I have done a good job when fans, at the end of my show, come up to me and tell me that my lyrics are also about them!"
