More than seven years after the release of Hot Streak (Loud & Proud Records), the supergroup The Winery Dogs recently announced his recording comeback with III (Three Dog Music/Burnside Distribution/ The Orchard) - scheduled for release on 3 February 2023 - and an American tour, which is now joined by a series of dates including an Italian stage scheduled for Thursday 22 June 2023 at Alcatraz in Milan. I tickets for the concert will be available on Ticketone e Ticketmaster from 11 a.m. on Friday 9 December 2022.
Between 2015 and 2016, the collective composed of Richie Kotzen, Billy Sheehan e Mike Portnoy had hit the road to show off their hardcore straights' attitude and present their second studio album live, Hot Streakwith a world tour. Afterwards, the trio had separated for a few years to devote themselves to their individual projects, but when the desire to perform together came back, they immediately knew what to do.
"We wanted to go on tour,' he says Kotzen talking about the 22 tour dates 2019 of the The Winery Dogsrather appropriately titled Who Let The Dogs Out. "It was a short and fun tour that rekindled our enthusiasm, and it was also the moment when we felt we should work on a third album," he adds Portnoy. He concludes SheehanIt was really rejuvenating to get together like that. We could relax a bit and enjoy being together on stage, playing without pressure. It was a beautiful thing."
Now the trio is ready to be back on stage with renewed vigour. "Our goal is to give people a truly enjoyable listening experience," emphasises Kotzen. "Our music is created by real people playing real instruments, all together in the same room. There is nothing artificial about it'. Sheehan he adds 'I would like our listeners to experience what we ourselves are going through. Our albums are snapshots of our life and the way we are living it. Our music tells what is important to us, and what is not'. Closes Portnoy "The strength of this band is, first of all, in the songs. Then comes the musical talent, which is obviously important. What makes The Winery Dogs so exceptional is that each of our pieces is memorable, catchy and singable, but at the same time there is enormous talent in all three areas.
