After a triumphant 25-date tour of Europe in November and December 2017, the Queen + Adam Lambert surprise announcement of 12 more European shows next summer, including a single Italian stop Monday 25 June at the Mediolanum Forum in Assago (Milan)which will be set up with a special parterre with seating for the occasion. I tickets, strictly nominal, will be available from 11 a.m. on Tuesday 6 February exclusively on Vivaticketboth online and at all points of sale; be wary of unofficial channels! These concerts come on the back of incredible demand for new dates in Europe and will see the band perform on stages in cities not touched by last year's tour.
The tour will open in Lisbon, Portugal, on 7 June, and will include Spain, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium, and will end in the UK with a return to the London O2 Arena on 2 July, where the band has already performed two sold-out shows. The tour is presented by Phil McIntyre Entertainments.
Brian May commented on the announcement: 'The production of our last concerts in Europe was almost unanimously called the best we have ever done. We received numerous requests for us to come back on tour to visit the cities that were left out! So, as we still have the physique to play with such great energy, we thought... 'YES!!! The great 2017-2018 show of Queen + Adam Lambert has been tailor-made for the band by some of the most innovative talent. Responsible for design and production is Ric Lipson of Entertainment Architects Stufish Productions, world-renowned for its ground-breaking work for artists such as Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones and U2, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Having lit the tours of stars such as Adele, Peter Gabriel and Kylie Minogue, Rob Sinclair is the acclaimed lighting designer who will be responsible for moving over 300 lights throughout the show. The stunning laser elements are the work of ER Productions, who worked on the opening and closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympics, which were watched by over 900 million people worldwide.
Musically, the band welcomed Spike Edney on keyboards, Neil Fairclough on bass and Tyler Warren on percussion.
Since their first time together on stage during the final of American Idol In May 2009, the partnership between Queen and Adam Lambert proved to be extremely successful and currently has more than 130 concerts in every corner of the globe under its belt.
Before their upcoming summer dates in Europe, the Queen + Adam Lambert will perform ten sold-out shows in arenas across Australia and New Zealand, starting in Auckland with two concerts at the Spark Arena on 17 and 18 February and concluding at the Perth Arena on 6 March.
