Fans of American alternative rock should definitely mark this date in their calendars: Sunday 1 September 2019 the two cult bands Flaming Lips e Eels will take the stage at the September Prato is a spectacle at Piazza Duomo in Prato. I Flaming Lips return to Italy after their last date last November on the stage of theAlcatraz, Milan. Their shows overwhelm the senses with special costumes and sets, inflatable balloons, puppets, video projections and light games. The band released a box set last year, Greatest Hits Vol. I, which traces twenty-five years of his career. He also recently announced the release of a new album, King's Mouthscheduled for this April on Record Store Day 2019 and featuring the collaboration of Mick Jones of The Clash.
The Eels have just unveiled the dates of their tour starting next April, which will cross the US from east to west, and will arrive in Europe and our country in September. The band formed in 1995 in California and since then the line-up has undergone several changes. Mark Oliver Everett aka Mr. E, frontman and soul of the band, called his "only music" and recently added that "the world is a mess. Change starts in your garden and I am optimistic enough to believe that this simple thought can change the world."
With reference to The Deconstruction (EWorks - PIAS, 2018), the band's twelfth album, Mr. E stated: "I hope you enjoy our latest work. There are 15 Eels tracks that may or may not inspire some good rock! If you know how to find it, there is so much beauty. Sometimes you don't even have to look for it, sometimes you have to dig deep."
