New Zealand youths Alien Weaponry will be in Italy in less than two weeks and are ready to let us hear what Sepultura would be like if they did metal in the Maori language! The two concerts promise to be very special: the band will be Monday 15 July at Magnolia Club by Segrate (MI) e Tuesday 16 July at Music Park by Padua. Tickets are available on the following circuits Vivaticket e Ticketone (online and points of sale), for the Padua date also on DIY Ticket.
For the Milan date, on stage before them will be the Atlas Painband from Lombardy, spokesman for a metal with a strong epic character, active since 2013. If you are a fan of Ensiferum, Equilibrium e Wintersun you just can't miss them! The band debuted with its first EP, Behind The Front Page in 2015, subsequently, through Scarlet Recordshas released two full length albums,What The Oak Left (2017) - nominated Album of The Month from Rock Hard Italy - e Tales Of A Pathfinder (2019).
The Alien Weaponry are the brothers Lewis and Henry de Jong, respectively vocals/guitar and drums, and Ethan Trembath, on bass, and started the band in 2010. The boys study in a Maori Schoolwhere speaking and singing in the mother tongue is routine, but they approach the western music of the Metallica, Rage Against the Machine e Red Hot Chili Peppers. These combinations of music, language and history form the basis of the band's sound and ideas.
From the debut album Tū (Napalm Records, 2018) the Alien Weaponry have managed to make a global name for themselves, building a solid fan base and garnering more than positive reviews in the news media. Most of their song lyrics are in the language Te Reo Maori and all 13 tracks of their record tell stories full of emotion and pain, but with a warrior attitude e politically aligned. Henry de Jong, the band's drummer, stated: "Our style and the messages we deliver are often brutal and angry, but that is what stories of great courage require!"
