AN EVENING WITH VAN MORRISON, ACTUALLY TWO ! 13 and 14 MAY AT THE MILAN CONSERVATORY

Van The Man will give two concerts in the prestigious venue of the Milan Conservatorywhich as of this year in a three-year exclusive agreement with Barley Arts also opens its doors to artists outside the classical and symphonic spheres.

If in his record production the Belfast-based artist has periodically strayed, with varying success, into territories alien to the original folk blues of songs such as Gloria o Brown Eyed Girl, it must be admitted that of the 42 albums in 40 years of activity (between THEM and solo career), there are many for which the word 'masterpiece' can be used, e.g. ASTRAL WEEKS (the first solo one, 1968), MOONDANCE (1970), NO GURU, NO METHOD, NO TEACHER (1986), TOO LONG IN EXILE (1993).

In the meantime, between duets and important collaborations, from the Chieftains (IRISH HEARTBEAT, 1988) to John Lee Hooker (THE HEALING GAME, 1997), from Jerry Lee's sister Linda Gail Lewis (YOU WIN AGAIN, 2000) to an as yet unconfirmed participation in Salomon Burke's new album (due out on 1March 2005), VAN MORRISON continues to be a milestone in music history. His latest studio album, WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?, released on the prestigious Blue Note label, received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Contemporary Blues Album.

And in the meantime, VAN plays for us on two consecutive evenings, 13 and 14 May, starting strictly at 8.30 pm.
