The black music of FANTASTIC NEGRITO arrives in Italy

Back to Italy Fantastic Negrito for a date not to be missed Monday 17 July at the Festival delle Colline di Poggio a Caiano (PO). All pre-sale info will be posted on www.festivaldellecolline.com.

Fantastic Negrito is the essence and truth of being human told in the form of black music. Each song is the story of this Oakland musician who experienced the possibility of a million dollar contract with a major label, but decided to give it all up. A musician who survived a terrifying car accident and, after a four-week coma, is like a phoenix ready to rise again. Fantastic Negrito has enchanted everyone at Chris Cornell's concert openings and during his first headlining acts. His music emphasises caution and space, between slide guitar, drums and piano. Rather than revisiting his models, Fantastic Negrito leaves Lead Belly and Skip James intact and builds with them a bridge to a modern sound with loops and samples of his live instruments.

Fantastic Negrito achieved success in 2015 when he won the NPR Tiny Desk Contest and his ep reached number one on the blues charts in the US; UK, Germany and Asia. In 2016 his new album, The Last Days of Oakland, was released, he was featured in numerous TV appearances and accompanied Chris Cornell on tour in North America and Europe. The year peaked when his album won Best Contemporary Blues Album at the 59th Grammy Awards.
